We are on our way back to the UK. We covered over 5500 miles in our trip, and we still have one last interview to do in Helsinki.

Wednesday 26th October 2011
Portugal has been amazing. We now have the most important part of the story in the can. It's time to head back home. Raining hard. I think the ferry from Santander is going to be very rough.
Tuesday 25th October 2011
We currently have the computer running on maximum power as it converts all our footage. I'm off for some body-boarding in the Atlantic for an hour, after that we leave for Porto to do an interview this evening.
5006.7 miles covered. We have arrived in Porto for our penultimate interview.
Monday 24th October 2011
We're in Portugal - we've been filming a most shocking story today.
Today we started making the real film - telling the real story. Now this is more like it. Now it all seems to matter; now it seems a little more important than just a story about people who drive cars, which for me, is not anywhere near enough.
We have left Lisbon now having had an egg custard - a local delicacy. On the road to Porto where we film tomorrow evening. Have a free morning by the sea where I hope to go body-boarding on the Atlantic rollers.

4464.1 miles covered. We are 40 miles away from Portugal.
It's a full on storm here! We're camping by beach later - big weather, big Atlantic weather.

We're just south of Biaritz, I've just had a dip in the Atlantic rollers. 4074.6 miles covered. 608 miles and 9 hours to go until we hit Lisbon.
We're now in Spain, our 7th country of the trip.
Friday 21st October 2011
07:00 - Ready to leave Corsica. This is our fourth ferry trip. We don't film for the next two days, but we have to travel all the way across to Lisbon from Nice. We catch another ferry tonight to take up to Barcelona.
Corsica is an amazingly mountainous place. The hiking and mountain hiking must be brilliant; I want to come back here.
14:42 - We're on our way to Narbonne Beach. We cancelled ferry to Barcelona - we'll be driving for the next three days to Lisbon.

07:15 - Our 3rd ferry trip - we're on our way to Corsica on a rough sea.
10:04 - Arrived in Corsica. 3333.3 miles covered.
11:15 - We are in a place where someone was tragically killed; this is a very emotional place.
3463.9 miles covered. This has been our toughest filming day. We worked hard all day and been to some very emotional places. We've also done some great on-board filming, and met an amazing man.

15:32 - 3001.8 miles covered, and we are currently in our 6th country. 18:37 - We've just passed the Tower of Pisa. 19:15 - Having our dinner in the Harbour while we wait for the ferry.

We met an amazing man today, very special! Soon we're off to Italy, flying down the Cote d'Azur at 85mph. We are to catch a ferry tonight at 22:00 - off to a beautiful Island to meet a legend.

12:36 - We are in France and surrounded by wide flat lakes, tree clad valleys, cloud shrouded mountains, and empty farmers tracks.
15:36 - Currently heading for Provence. We passed Chambery and Aixe Les Bains; following the Isere river. Stopped for coffee in Touvet.
17:46 - 2759.6 miles covered. Currently in Provence, half an hour until we are in Sisteron. Been driving since 9:00am.
